Work gives you meaning and purpose and life is empty without it. —Stephen Hawking

Weekly Writing Mantra: I am clear in my creative purpose.

One Chapter Ends

2021 is almost over, and many of us are ready for a fresh start. Life in a pandemic can feel like a grind and has left many of us (myself included) feeling unmoored from so-called “normal” existence.

A New Chapter Begins

A new year is an opportunity for clarity. It’s a great time to shed habits and thoughts that aren’t helping you and pick up new ones that will guide you toward the life you want.

You don’t have to revolutionize your life; there’s no point in trying to perfect yourself overnight. But even if you make a little progress toward your goals daily, by the end of 2022 you’ll find yourself much closer to your target.

Writing is, after all, more than just a hobby. For many of us, it’s a way of life.

When we miss a few days or weeks of writing, we start to feel uncomfortable...as if we’ve been neglecting something important. Which we have. Aristotle said that nature abhors a vacuum, and so do we. Quite simply, we must create because that is what humans do.

And writers, specifically? We write.

I hope you’ll start 2022 with a renewed sense of your own purpose and a sense of joy in bringing your gifts to the world.
